The Bucket List:
Certificate: 12A
Genre: Comedy
Who's in it: Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson
Chris' Verdict on Bucket List: 8/10- "Worth-seeing. There is a great
on-screen chemistry between these two ageing stars. They both really
seemed to enjoy making the film which made me enjoy it all the more. It
lacks of the actions and romance but is still worth going to see."
Ellie's Verdict on Bucket List: 7/10- "Funny film. There are some
hilarious lines and scenes from two actors who are not that renowned
for their comedy acting; particularly Morgan Freeman. I would definitely
recommend going to see this film."

Bucket List Review
Bucket List is based on two people who become friends while in hospital and
decide to write a list of things that they want to do before they 'kick the bucket'.
Jack Nicholson is a wealthy businessman who is actually the owner of the
hospital. This wealth means he can afford to do a whole lot of crazy things that
most people would never be able to do such a sky diving. There is an eventual
period of lull during the film as the actors do the various things on the list.
Unfortunately in Bucket List there is a lack of action and that can detract from
Bucket List. There are long periods of nothingness in Bucket List where the plot
relies on the acting skills and dialogue rather than anything actually happening.
Nevertheless, seeing Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman sky dive is good fun
to watch and i am yet to find out if they actually did it. Moreover, the dialogue
and screenplay in this film is well constructed and arguably the best part of
Bucket List.
The acting by both Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson who themselves are
entering their final years as actors is fantastic and they both showed they are
two of the best actors in Hollywood. Morgan Freeman also acts as the narrator
making the film incredibly easy to follow and allowing you to sit back, relax and
enjoy. Moreover, the relationship and apparent friendship between the two
characters makes Bucket List all the more enjoyable because the two characters
are genuinely likeable. You actually get to know the characters which makes the
ending of the film when the inevitable happens all the more upsetting. For the
sensitive among you the ending to Bucket List may bring a tear to your eye.
Bucket List is funny and utterly hilarious in places. The humour is tasteful and
suitable for most ages and sexes. The humour in this film is intelligent and a
welcome break from the Jackass style comedy that seems to dominate modern
comedies. Although, i had to laugh when i saw how beautiful Jack Nicholson's
wife is in the film. However, the plot of the film is morbid and as the film nears the
end it becomes very sad as the characters approach the end of their lives. It has
to be said that Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson are both approaching the
end of their lives. There is not much romance and little intense action but that
would be inappropriate and despite this Bucket List still has something for
everyone.
Ultimately, this film is surprisingly good and i would recommend going to see it
especially if you enjoy a film where the actors can actually act compared to some
modern comedies.
