Children of Men Movie Trailer
Children of Men is set in 2027 when humankind faces extinction. The youngest
citizen, who was 18 has just died and shows the devastation as society begins to
disappear. The film has a dark and gloomy feel with war and violence in nearly
every scene.
The plot follows a government agent who has the job of transporting pregnant
women to a sanctuary where scientists monitor the few pregnant women left, in
order to try and save mankind.
Clive Owen gives an unusually gritty performance and in this demanding role he
really does not disappoint. He is convincing, controlled yet on the edge and I
really enjoyed his performance. Julianne Moore also features but has relatively
little to do. Michael Caine also makes a funny cameo which I really enjoyed.
This film requires concentration and is not very optimistic, yet is still a good film.
London is portrayed not as we know it; there is no trust or civilization and the
path to guide the lone pregnant woman in order for her to have her baby in
safety in intertwined with violence and disturbing images.
