HOW TO LOSE FRIENDS AND
ALIENATE PEOPLE REVIEW

Certificate: 15

Genre: Comedy

Who's in it: Simon Pegg, Kurstin Dunst

Chris' Verdict On How to Lose Friends and Alienate People: 6/10- "Great cast,
great humour and overall a good comedy. Not as good as the classic comedies that
you can watch over and over though."

Ellie's Verdict On How to Lose Friends and Alienate People: 7/10- "Wasn't
really my thing, at times I found it funny but overall a bit distasteful. Ben Stiller and
Jack Black looked like they had a lot of fun making this film."

what social skills he has, to land a job at an upmarket New York magazine. Sidney blunders around
trying to find favour of the magazine editor, Jeff Bridges while trying to romance the hot young starlet,
time at Vanity Fair.

Unlike some Pegg's previous films, 'How To Lose Friends and Alienate People' relies on the charm and
likeability of Pegg rather a good comic script. Yes, there are some lines of comic genius but they are
too few and far between. 'How To Lose Friends and Alienate People' marks a change in Pegg's
co-stars; this time Pegg is surrounded by some of Hollywood's most actresses. Pegg, handles the role
excellently but, it is those that are around him that let the film down. I am yet to be convinced by the
acting skills of either Megan Fox or Kirsten Dunst. While both are undoubtably beautiful, they needed to
offer more than just beauty to save 'How To Lose Friend and Alienate People'.

The plot is predictable throughout and manages to serve up very few, if any, surprises. Megan Fox and
Kirsten Dunst offer something to keep a male viewer entertained during the dreadful dialogue but there
is little for the female audience. If it was not for likeable nature of Simon Pegg this film would be a
complete disaster. Ultimately, the numerous goofs and gaffs began to annoy me, which only becomes a
problem when nothing else is happening. I recommend waiting until the film comes out on DVD before
seeing it.
