Flashbacks Of A Fool:

Certificate:

Genre: Drama

Who's in it: Daniel Craig, Harry Eden, Angie Ruiz

Chris' Verdict on Flashbacks Of A Fool: 6/10-  "Good acting but not enough
depth. In my opinion Daniel Craig only choose to do Flashbacks of A Fool because
it was a break away from 007. He can not have the script because it is just so dull. I
even managed to fall asleep briefly without even intending to do so. Flashbacks Of
A Fool sucked the life out of me."

Ellie's Verdict on Flashbacks Of A Fool: 5/10 - "Daniel Craig is good but too
dull. There is nothing to get excited about. It is just one disaster after another and
even writing about it now is depressing!"

Flashbacks Of A Fool Trailer
Flashbacks Of A Fool Review

Joe Scott (Daniel Craig) returns home following the funeral of his childhood best
friend, but the trip back sparks flashbacks of a tormented past and a tragedy that
changed his life forever. Disaster after disaster seems to continue to happen as he
struggles with drink and spirals out of control and even struggles with drugs. Other
than Daniel Craig there are few other distinguished cast members. Daniel Craig
also co-produces Flashbacks Of A Fool and his friend Walsh writes and directs.

Daniel Craig as the lead actor and producer of Flashbacks Of A Fool is the sole
focus of the film which could be disappointing for some particularly as he plunges
into depression. While Daniel Craig is used to playing the lead role this film
demands much more from him than all his previous projects. For me, Daniel
Craig's performance was probably his best so far and I was surprised that he was
able to cope with the role. Harry Eden and Angie Ruiz also make cameo
appearances in Flashbacks Of A Fool adding to the plot and providing excellent
performances. An area of improvement could be more development of some of the
flashbacks because there are some grey areas in the film.

Walsh is the director and friend of Daniel Craig. The film is well constructed, the
dialogue is good and some of the flashbacks are very convincing and begin to
really draw you in. Flashbacks Of A Fool is very well put together but it still really
lacks a certain something. Moreover, towards the end of the film it seemed that
they were trying to squeeze everything into the closing scenes. Subsequently,
some areas could have be explored more like the relationship between Joe and
Boots. The gaps in the film do let it down and it even made me smile at how poor
some of the explanations were. There was too much of his childhood.

I did end up feeling sympathy for the main character but their was not enough
depth to get completely drawn into the character. Flashbacks Of A Fool was just
too depressing and morbid for me to really enjoy it and not well enough explained
to be a top quality drama. If you are in a happy mood this film will probably drain it
out of you and I think anyone under the age of 25 will not enjoy the film and 15
year olds would hate it and resort to throwing popcorn, which some people did
when I went to see it!

Ultimately, Flashbacks Of A Fool shows that Daniel Craig has genuine acting skills
rather than just being 007. The film is well directed even if it is a little rushed at the
end. Eden and Ruiz provide good cameos but all this is still not enough to make
this film worth seeing. If you are a fan of dull and dramatic films then you will enjoy
it but for me there was no enough depth and I was soon bored. If you really want to
see it I would wait till you can rent it on DVD rather than wasting your money on a
cinema ticket.
